Masters of Code: Lee Moss
Welcome back to Masters of Code! I’d like to introduce you to Lee Moss, radiographer turned Junior Software Engineer, and Command Shift alumni. This week, I chatted with the fantastic Lee all about the tech industry, his experience at Command Shift, and his brand new job! Here’s what he said…
What were you doing before Command Shift?
Before joining Command Shift, I was a Sonographer/Radiographer for the NHS. I’m not a Junior Cloud Engineer for the DVLA.
How has the course set you up for your job?
Debugging code for sure! Having the ability to read between the lines and breaking everything down into sections. The final project really helped with starting a project from scratch and learning how to collaborate effectively, ensure you are following best practices, and how to push/pull code up to a git repo.
What would you say to someone who’s on the fence about joining the course?
I’d say go for it. I did find it overwhelming in the beginning because of my background and I did get very bad imposter syndrome, but the tutors were always available and being in a cohort with a mixture of different backgrounds meant that others were probably going through the same thing!
Why did you choose Command Shift over other bootcamps and coding schools?
I chose Command Shift because of the part-time aspect and after speaking to the onboarding team about the quality and content of the course, I was very happy.
